Four wines, Riesling from the Clos Schild and Clos Himmelreich, Pinot Gris from Clos des Recollets and Amplus, a special Pinot Noir cuvee, comprise the range of Grands Vins de Terroir. The Clos Schild vineyard is a micro climate within the great Pfingstberg Grand Cru. Clos Himmelreich, along the ridge of one of the highest slopes in Orschwihr is a Grand Cru in all but name is the exclusive property of the Albrecht family. Both of these wines are piercing examples of a fine Riesling. The Pinot Gris from Clos des Recollets an exceptionally rich version of this great variety from the magnificent walled Clos des Recollets, behind the church of the same order. And Amplus, the personal creation for Jean Albrecht, is new style Alsace Pinot Noir...rich, fruited and a superb combination of old world terroir and new thinking about Pinot Noir in Alsace.
